They wanted to be with Jesus

A line from the Gospel read at Mass a couple days ago impressed me a lot. Luke's Gospel said that Jesus' mother and brothers came to where he was teaching and wanted to be with him.

They wanted to be with him. That's all. Isn't that a great definition of prayer? Just to be with Jesus? It made me want to spend more time in prayer, just to be with Jesus.

That is the perfect prayer isn't it? To be with Jesus. Sometimes we just take our Churches, our chapels for granted. When I was younger (many years ago), I remember the older people making the Sign of the Cross as we passed a Catholic Church. Now, not many do that; just to remember Jesus, God, is there. Thank you for reminding me of that and just to spend time with Jesus more.
