children aren't children until they are born.a fetus is a fetus. it belongs to the woman carrying it. no one has the right to tell her what she can and can't do with something inside of her, so cut the bull.
fetus |ˈfētəs| ( Brit. (in nontechnical use) also foetus)noun ( pl. -tuses )an unborn offspring of a mammal, in particular an unborn human baby more than eight weeks after conception.Interesting that you have such a view of a "fetus" when you were once a "fetus" yourself. You should be thanking your mother that she didn't have the view that you do, otherwise, you might not be here. At only two weeks gestation, an unborn human baby already has a beating heart as well as developing hands and feet. Many women don't even know they are pregnant at this point. Women have the right to use protection or, better yet, abstain from sexual intercourse if they do not want to have a baby. The choice is actually made BEFORE she gets pregnant. Babies should not be killed simply because a woman makes a bad choice. A baby, though connected to the mother via the umbilical cord, is a completely separate individual with his own heart, brain, lungs, etc. And whether you believe it or not, an unborn baby actually belongs to God, not the woman carrying the baby in her womb. No one and no other power has given her the right to kill the unborn person. In fact, our Declaration of Independence actually gives the baby the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. All people have these rights, even the unborn ones. Woe to us if we become a nation that kills its own people to avoid responsibility.
Brent obviously doesn't believe in the sacredness of human life at all stages, from conception until natural death.A society that doesn't protect its most innocent and vulnerable members is a society that is on the way to suicide. An unborn child does not "belong" to the mother, as if she can dispose of it at will. It's a separate life that she has an obligation to protect.
I am with you, Sr. Lorraine. It is disgusting to think that endangered species are protected, but preborn babies aren't.
People browse blogs every day looking for keywords or buzzwords that they are assigned to for that day. When they hit on them, they attack with their lame attempts to get you to "shut up" about your deeply held beliefs. I decided long ago to moderate my comments to eliminate about 90 percent of those people. The ones who still dare to think I might post one of their hateful comments try to get through but there's no way since I won't bother to draw attention to them with a response. They can sell their hatred elsewhere. I figure I am doing them a favor because then, they can just sit still, and be quiet, and read what other, smarter, Godly people say and not have a chance to respond with that horrible anger. When/if they calm down and ASK questions or have reasoned, respectful responses...THEN I can post them and we can have a discussion. I don't think that attacking a person is a good way to get them to see your point.
Thanks, Laura; that's a good way to handle it. I deleted a couple comments because they were ridiculously over the top. If they want to promote their ridiculous beliefs, they can do it elsewhere.
